The starter rope is pulled back by the recoil starter pulley when it’s not in use. If you have a broken recoil pulley, then the rope will not rewind and the engine won’t start. So, you need to replace the recoil starter pulley if it’s damaged. · Rewind Pulley and Spring; The rewind spring can also be broken under certain situations. Brought the bike back from the lbs today with the cheap and ugly shimano freewheel. Knocking sound is gone, the shimano freewheel is a lot quite (the sunrace one was IMO way to loud) and it shifts so smooth and quietly together with the new Izumi chain. Good question indeed. Should the wheels be tight or loose? It all depends on the roller skater. If you want to slow down the wheels, then tighten the axle nuts. It creates more friction. The wheel nuts should be tight enough so that the wheels spin freely. However, if you loosen the wheels they will spin faster. To loosen them, use the right tools. (It's probably adjusted all the way out since it's new.) Hold the lever and tighten the mounting bolts. Now spin the wheel and back the stationary pad out until it doesn't rub. Click to expand... Ok I tried this and it still rubs. It looks to be the non stationary/outer pad rubbing. Save Reply. It the back wheel moves forward freely, but backwards is a problem, then try the pedals by hand with the rear wheel off the ground. If this doesn't turn freely, the pedal crank bearing (a.k.a. bottom bracket) is too tight. Once you have identified the problem take it back to where you got it. It should be easy to fix, or they should replace it.

I plan to do a full 4 wheel fluid flush after i get the car road worthy…other rear wheel needs a bearing in a bad way and i am drilling out a lug nut that a belle tire guy spun but that's another story. Update: I put 5 identical washers on the studs between the bearing hub and rotor and now the wheel spins freely.

Very Stiff Rear Wheel - BikeRadar.

Rear won't move easily. If the driveshaft isn't turning, it is not part of the equation. The STi has a limited slip rear diff. The rear wheels will be difficult to turn even if the brakes aren't hanging up. Especially if the opposite wheel is turning the opposite direction.

Pay attention to the gap, or lack of gap between the pencil and the rotors. Will give you some idea if the rotors are warped.

Slide the two spacers onto the shaft, drill a 3/4″ hole in the lower bracket that will be welded to the kart. Weld the angle iron (steering stop) and pitman arm (with 3/8″ hole) onto the shaft as well. The lower bracket should have just enough play between the spacer and steering stop to spin freely on the steering shaft without binding. Put the wheels back on and after tightening the lug nuts the right side front wheel wouldn't turn. left side was fine. Played around then tried swapping wheels to opposite sides of car. Surprised but problem followed wheel. Now the right side turns freely and the left side is stuck. When the lug nuts are barely snug the wheel turns but once I. When I bought my RS the suspension had been taken apart by the previous owner. When I got it back together the left front hub wouldn't turn after I tightened the axle nut. I thought I would need a new wheel bearing but I drove it around the block anyway. When I got back it had loosened up. Hub spins freely now, no noise.

My FLH is up on a jack and the front wheel will not spin freely - it feels and sounds as if the brake pads are dragging against the rotors and it requires a moderate amount force to move it; something is clearly hanging it up. Is this a function of the forks being extended.

Il try hitting it. Put the wheel in your lap and tap the axle out between your legs. When you get the hub apart, post some pictures of the axle and both sides of the hub. It kinda looks like the wrong driver; there doesn't look like there's enough room on the bearing shoulder to fit the 3 driver bearings. Chevrolet dealer service dept. mechanic indicates a brake concern on the rear drivers side wheel won't spin freely - needs service. Why is this and what causes this problem?. Basically, all that a pulley is is a wheel spinning around an axle to aid the motion of a belt. The sprockets on a bike, for example, are a type of pulley, because when they spin, they drive other sprockets on the bike, that in turn rotate the rear wheel. So to make a basic pulley, all you need to do is loop a rope over some sort of wheel and axle.

Again, it would be helpful to know which zero turn you have. The RTZ series use Hydrogear EZT transaxles where Z-Forces use Hydrogear ZT-2800 transaxles. The brake is either full on or full off on these. It's a cog-wheel type brake on the EZT (which I am assuming is what you have). 195hrs is quite a bit for starting it's 3rd season. Just bought a used bike with 7 hours on it the suspension was redone by Devol and the owner put it back on himself. The front wheel only spins for about 1-2 seconds with a hard spin how can I fix this problem? Grease the axle? Take off the caliper and re-assemble the wheel? Any info would help to.

This means the caliper functions fine, but doesn't allow the whole caliper to return to a free floating position. Solution; pull out the slide pins, and grease them up well. 2.) Bad pistons. Pistons apply fine, but won't return. You can disassemble the caliper and clean it, but often it will return and you'll have to replace it. 3.) Frozen slides. The rotor was actually getting too much pressure on the inside brake pad. Had to install a couple of shims for proper fitment. Try loosening the axle nut and spinning the wheel. Tighten the nut a little at a time, spinning the wheel each time you put some turn on it. Or just look at the pads, bet ya that's where they're binding.

The wheel bearings in your car take a lot of abuse and, not surprisingly, why we get a lot of questions about wheel bearing noise and signs of bad bearings. CT_Nismo said: The fully assembled brake with calipers should spin freely. It seems to me your problem is with the driver's side caliper, not the parking brake. Resetting the piston requires opening up the brake fluid reservoir. The parking brake and driving brakes are two independent systems. Drive side is turning good now.
